Opportunities to Serve

The Diocese of Tasmania has entered an exciting new stage of life and ministry under the leadership of Bishop Richard Condie. A variety of ministry opportunities are open and we are seeking Gospel leaders to join us in God’s Mission in Tasmania.

We have a mixture of full and part-time positions, some in rural, remote and regional locations, and others in Hobart and Launceston. See below for more information.

We are seeking Rectors, a Church Planter, a Rural Missioner, a Community Outreach worker, and other gospel minded workers.

The Diocese has a positive vision for confident disciple-making, and has many gospel opportunities. We are committed to training, supporting and growing our ministry leaders.

Circular Head: A bountiful farming district around the town of Smithton in North-West Tasmania, is seeking a full-time missional leader to work in partnership with the Bishop and Parish to build new ministry.

Brighton: A fast growing community on the northern edge of Greater Hobart is seeking a full-time Church Planter to work in partnership with the Bishop, Parish and the Bush Church Aid Society to grown a new expression of church life.

Deloraine: Rural Tasmanian life at its best, thirty minutes from Launceston. A northern parish seeking to appoint a fulltime Priest in Charge to guide the next stage of parish life.

King Island: A partnership with the Bush Church Aid Society. Isolated people seeking your help in reaching the islanders for Christ.

Furneaux: A cluster of islands with ministry based on Flinders Island in the North East of Tasmania. Another partnership with BCA.

Holy Trinity Launceston: An iconic Launceston faith community in the orthodox Anglo-Catholic tradition.

Lindisfarne: The classic suburban parish seeking a Priest in Charge to serve the people of these eastern shore suburbs of Hobart, and to reach young families in the area.

St John’s Launceston: A strong growing evangelical parish seeking a strategic team leader as Rector.

Northern Midlands: A rural Parish based in northern midlands town of Campbell Town, seeking a part-time missional leader. This is an opportunity for bi-vocational ministry to these rural communities.

Enabling Ministry: An opportunity exists for a mature and experienced minister to serve as enabler of a cluster of parish ministry teams in northern Tasmania operating in our pattern of ministry known as Enabler Supported Ministry.

Parish Director of Ministry: One of our larger southern Hobart parishes is seeking to appoint a senior associate to bring coordination to the extensive operations of the Parish. This position is a strategic partnership with the Senior Minister.

Community and Youth Ministry Development Worker: The Parish of Northside in the northern suburbs of Hobart has created this exciting position to develop fresh ministry in this community.

Ulverstone Children’s and Family Outreach Worker: Ulverstone, on the coast of North West Tasmania, is keen to pursue new ministry to the youth and families of their district. This full-time position is an exciting development for the Parish.

Family Outreach Developer

The Ulverstone Anglican Church in North West Tasmania is offering a new full-time position to support and develop the current children’s and family program; and most importantly to pioneer gospel ministry in the wider community with the long-term goal of planting a new, missional congregation.
