Media release Thursday 27 September 2007 Archbishop Peter Jensen in HobartThe Archbishop of Sydney, Dr Peter Jensen, will be visiting Hobart this Friday through Monday. Dr Jensen will be giving a public lecture titled 'The Future of Jesus' at the University of Tasmania's Stanley Burbury Theatre on Friday 28th September at 7:30pm. Dr Jensen has previously spoken on this topic as the invited speaker for the 2005 ABC Boyer Lectures, which have since been published by the ABC. Dr Jensen will also be speaking at a more informal public event at 7:30pm at St George's Church, Battery Point. He will preach the sermon at St David's Cathedral, Hobart, on Sunday at 10am, and speak again at a youth event on Sunday at 6pm at the Stanley Burbury Theatre. The Bishop of Tasmania, the Right Reverend John Harrower, has invited Dr Jensen to Hobart as a part of the Jesus. All about life media campaign currently being run by the combined churches of Tasmania. Bishop Harrower said that he was delighted to welcome Dr Jensen to Hobart. He said, 'Dr Jensen is an internationally recognised church leader and scholar. He is an engaging speaker and writer, and I encourage the people of Hobart to take the opportunity of hearing him in person.'
