Media release Friday 29 July 2005 Community Invited to relaunch Of ChurchThis weekend, 30 - 31 July, will see the relaunching of a refurbished BayWest Anglican Church in Sandy Bay. BayWest would like to invite the community to be a part of the celebrations. In April, BayWest removed its pews, and has since refurbished the interior of the church, including new carpet, comfortable individual moveable chairs and an updated sound and projection system. As a part of the launch weekend, on Saturday night from 7pm in the church there will be a free night of coffee and swing, open for all. A live swing band will provide the music, and drinks can be purchased from a commercial quality coffee machine in the corner of the church. The weekend will also include a day of prayer on Saturday, from 10am - 4pm. On Sunday, at a 10am service, the Anglican Bishop of Tasmania, the Right Reverend John Harrower, will officially rededicate the new building as a centre of worship and mission. Bishop Harrower said, 'I'm excited to see a church taking up the challenge of mission in the 21st Century. I look forward to BayWest continuing to grow, as it has been over recent years.'
