The Bishop of Tasmania, the Right Reverend John Harrower said, 'Jim Bacon was dedicated, optimistic and determined in his leadership, and he continued to exhibit strength and courage in fighting cancer. We have lost a fighter. We grieve. 'Our sympathy, prayers and support go out to Mrs Honey Bacon, sons Mark and Scott and stepson Shane, mother Joan and sisters Jenny, Mary and Wendy, their families and friends. Thank you for sharing Jim with us.'
