How we care

Did you know that the Anglican Church gives more to the Tasmanian community than does any other charitable institution or church?

For instance, without the work of Anglicare, every day hundreds of people would go hungry, wouldn't have a place to spend the night - and wouldn't have a job.

Anglicans are there in every part of our community, alongside the sick, the imprisoned and the mentally ill, providing relief, working with children, youth, families and the elderly. We provide job skills, programs for recovery from alcoholism or drug abuse, counselling for people with family, gambling or money problems ...

All this happens on the ground, here, now at the local level.

That’s where the parishes are, too. They're the ones with their ear to the ground, Christians quietly going about their day-to-day lives, noticing where there is need.

And doing something about it.
