In successive years a woman of St Paul's Parish has been inducted into Tasmania's Honour Roll of Women. In 2005 it was Betty Gurr who was acknowledged for her lifetime of service to Meals on Wheels, Refugee Support, and support of Anglicare. Now, added to the roll is Mavis Beven, who was awarded for service to the Arts (in singing). During her career Mavis was known by her maiden name Mavis Brinkman. She sang leading roles with the National Theatre and Fine Arts Society, The Elizabethan Trust Opera, The Theatre Royal Light Opera Company, ABC Television, The Tasmanian Opera Company, and The Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music.
