Parish of St James New Town and St Andrew Lenah Valley

The Parish has two centres - St James, Rupert Avenue and Main Road New Town and St Andrew's, Lenah Valley Road, Lenah Valley.

Worship takes place in both centres each Sunday morning. The worship is middle Anglican Tradition with a contemporary feel. In the evening a church café style is offered usually following six week themes.

Ministries

Youth groups

The youth group meets on Sunday afternoons 2.00pm - 4.00pm. An opportunity to explore faith issues and have fun with other Christian kids.

Children's and Family Ministry

Family Focus service on the first day of each month offers children's ministry and activities during the service.

The Mothers Union Fellowship Group

The Mothers Union Fellowship Group meets monthly for fellowship.

Mission support

The parish is involved in supporting ABM and CMS missionaries and other missionary organisations.

Mission focus for 2007:

School Chaplaincy

Locally the Parish has been involved in the establishment and support of a School Chaplaincy at Ogilvie High School in conjunction with local Christian Churches.

Seniors ministry

A parish team with the Rector provides pastoral and home Communion to elderly parishioners in their homes.
