Born in 1950 in Randwick, Sydney into a loving Christian family of women, great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, aunt and cousin, I was raised in the Christian faith attending St Judes Church, Randwick. I spent some joyous years in Queensland on a farm till 13 years of age when we returned to Sydney, where I completed my education at St Catherine's Church of England Girls School, Waverley and Kambala School, Rose Bay.
I spent the next few years foot loose doing a variety of jobs from working in a Stockbrokers and Pathologists to a newspaper, till my mother insisted I 'Stay still' for more than a year. In 1974 I started work at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick as a Neurophysiology Technician, where I remained till 1985. On the death of my beloved mother, I left the hospital to explore the wonders of Tasmania.
I purchased a commercial fishing boat and 'went fishing' for a few years, returning to the mainland to Adelaide where I met my beautiful husband Ian. Of course he had to see Tasmania, so we returned in 1995 to St Helen's where we built our home and started collecting and rescuing animals of all shapes and sises.
God's call back to the Church and to service was so strong, I had to let God guide me and remained in His grace ever since.
We moved to Geeveston five years ago where God's creatures continue to beat a pathway to our door. By now of course you would realise that we love animals. So along with horse riding, my life is pretty full. 'Praise the Lord!'.
I've been a lay reader at Geeveston and Dover for the last two years and look forward with excitement to serving the people of our parish of Franklin-Esperance. I want to tell the world of his saving grace in all I can do with joy. Praise God!
