Jim Webster

James Webster, or Jim as friends call him, joined the British Army as a boy soldier, trained to be a chef and served for twelve years. Jim worked as a chef for many years in the U.K. before emigrating with his wife Norma from Scotland in 1983. He continued as chef in Sydney, NSW central coast and Queensland, before moving to Queenstown in 1992. Jim then worked at a local mining company served successfully as union rep. After the death of his brother Jim went through a time of "lost-ness" and turned to God, and began a relationship with the Lord. Jim joined he Uniting church, undertaking some theological training and then joined the Anglican Church where he was called out for the Local ministry support team. He is enthusiastic about the love of Christ and enjoys sharing it with others in the community especially to men. He considers himself a work in progress as the Lord is yet shaping and moulding him on that potter's wheel. Jim and Norma have been married for 28 years, they have two dogs which he reckons are more like family than pets as they get better fed than he does. His hobbies include reading and fishing and writing poetry. Jim and Norma now consider Queenstown their hometown, for as the old saying goes home is where the heart is, and our hearts are certainly here in good old Queenie.
