I was born in Melbourne in 1946, amongst the early arrivals of the emerging baby-boomer generation. I was educated at Caulfield Grammar School and completed a Diploma of Applied Chemistry at RMIT. Over a period of eight years I was employed by two pharmaceutical companies as an industrial chemist, followed by 12 years working for a bank as a computer programmer/systems analyst.
Pam and I were married in 1970 and in 1985 I was offered the position of manager of CMS Bookstore. We moved to Launceston in February 1985 with our three children, Joanne, Robyn and Paul and with a strong sense of God's call.
I cannot remember a time when I was not a Christian, although the Billy Graham crusade in 1959 provided a focus to my faith. My greatest desire in ministry is to see people coming to know Jesus and to grow in their walk with Him.
It has been a privilege to be part of the congregation at St Aidans in East Launceston for the last 20 years and I look forward to the new opportunities for ministry that my ordination will bring across the wider parish of Riverlinks.
