Born and bred in Jaffna, Sri Lanka we have inherited our Christian faith from the puritans of the first protestant missionaries from North America to South Asia (1806) and from the Wesleyan Methodists from the United Kingdom (1804).
I had my education in various missionary schools and received the divine call to ministry when I completed high school. After a year of preparation, I proceeded to the Ecumenical Theological College in Bangalore, South India and at the end of six years obtained the degree of Bachelor of Divinity (BD). Subsequently, I successfully completed a Master of Theology (Th.M) degree in Pastoral Counselling at Princeton Theological Seminary in New Jersey, USA. We left Sri Lanka in 1995 after serving in Colombo and several rural parishes, both as a bachelor and after marriage, for 17 years. We served two Parishes in Melbourne - All Saints' Anglican Church, East Malvern (ASEM) and the Tamil Christian Congregation Victoria (TCCV) in the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne, for 12 years. Our two children, Anusha and David, are now in their early 20s and are employed in Melbourne.
The path Yogi and I have travelled during the years has equipped us to trust the One who called you and me for the rest of the journey. We have learnt to trust Him both in prosperity and in adversity. It is this kind of spirituality and experience that we bring to share with you. It is our prayer that we may serve Him with a passion and focus, a passion to boldly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ both in word and deed, a focus to do what we do in His name in the power of the Holy Spirit so that His Kingdom will grow from strength to strength.
