Ross Nicholson
Ross Nicholson, currently Rector of St John's Launceston, was born and raised in the inner west of Sydney. A graduate from the University of NSW with a commerce degree in marketing, Ross has been involved with Christian ministry for over 30 years beginning as a youth leader at St Jude's Dural. He also served with Fusion in Sydney, then studied theology at Moore College, gaining a BTh and later an MA.
Ross' ministry in Anglican churches includes a curacy in the Sydney outer western suburban city of Penrith, leading the growth of a semi-rural church in the Macarthur area for ten years and planting a church to minister to an Anglican school and local community. He next served as Rector of Willoughby and Area Dean on Sydney's North Shore, initiating a collaborative ministry structure with the neighbouring Anglican churches.
In September 2005 Ross was appointed Rector of St John's Launceston from which base he also serves as Mission Support Officer. Ross and his wife Jenny have three adult children. His eclectic interests include indoor climbing, bonsai, sailing and decent coffee.
