I grew up at New Norfolk in the '50s and '60s, where our large family attended St Matthew's, occupying an entire pew each Sunday morning! I attended Collegiate and went on to the University of Tasmania and completed a Bachelor of Science Degree and Diploma of Education. While at uni I spent some very happy months as verger at St David's Cathedral, and to add to my delight and blessing I met and married the love of my life, Allister. A true Cathedral romance!
After two relatively quiet years as schoolteachers and caretakers at Montgomery Park, we were flung into a series of adventures. First came our three children, Ben, Sarah and Matilda, delightful adventures in themselves! In 1978 we set up the Woodbridge Marine Discovery Centre, and in 1986 we started the Kingston Christian School and spent several enjoyable years in the leadership of Mercy Community Church at Kingston. In 1995 we moved to St Clement's, Kingston where I became involved in children's ministry and Safe Ministries Coordinator.
More recently I taught Science while supporting Allister as he set up Mission Afloat, as a Diocesan initiative at Montgomery Park. In response to God's call to ordained ministry I left the classroom, after thirty years' teaching, to complete a B.Th., in Hobart, at Tabor College. I am excited to be working with the team at Holy Trinity parish as Children's and Families Coordinator and I look forward to God's continued call on my life at this stage as a Priest in the Church of God.
