I was born in Sydney in New South Wales in March 1961 and lived for all of my childhood on the north shore of Sydney. As a child I initially attended Sunday School at St Albans Anglican in French's Forest but soon after my parents drifted away from the church.

Over the years I have had several careers and contributions to community life. For over 16 years I was a New South Wales Police Officer spending the majority of my career as a Crime Scene Examiner. During this I was awarded a scholarship to study systems for major disasters and missing person which took me around the world. After leaving the Police Service in 1995, I joined the Harvey Norman retail group and became a Proprietor for the Armidale Store in northern New South Wales. After leaving this organisation I became Teacher for TAFE and then Project Officer for the Vice-Chancellor at the University of New England. I left this position to assist my wife in managing two Hairdressing Salons and an agency for a hair products company. It was during this time I started to explore Christian faith and joined St Marks Anglican Church in Armidale. In 2002 we moved to Hobart for business and I became Business Development Manager for TAFE Tasmania. I left several years later to take on the role of General Manager for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Tasmania. Since moving to Hobart I and my family have been members of BayWest Anglican Parish in Sandy Bay. During this time I have been a member of Parish Council for four years in positions of Treasurer and Secretary.

In February of 2007 I was appointed to my first ministry role as Chaplain for the Tasmania Prison Service. I provide spiritual guidance and support to over 550 inmates in 8 prison and detention centres around the state.

In 1988 whist living on the south coast of New South Wales I met and married my wife Debbie. I have three children from my first marriage. Debbie and I have one child
