a healthy church...transformingLIFE

Ellen Clark

Childhood was beautiful, warmth, security, comfort and fun, tumbling, up in a large family. I thank God for my parents, their spirituality, wisdom and the example they set for us as Christian parents.

Marriage to Russell, and six children that I love dearly, were the middle years, then Russell's death and some tough times, have all moulded me into the person I am today.

I thank God for the community in which I live, the faithful Parish of Hamilton, who have been so good to me over the last 15 years, and for Simon and Sandra Pitt who insisted I went to Cursillo.

For the Cursillo movement, which has helped me to come to terms with my life, for their love and understanding. Later, for the growth I experienced, when I too was part of a Cursillo team.

It was during this time that I first became aware that God wanted more from me. That first awareness has taken a long time to come to fruition, with many frustrations along the way, but then I was called out by my Parish.

I thank my husband Keith for his support of me, and all my friends who have supported me, through the tough times. Today I have 11.5 beautiful grandchildren, work with the Glenora Online Centre, New Norfolk Community House, run a stall at Salamanca Market, enjoy Tuesday morning Bible studies, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ in my local community.

Most of all I thank God for his love and patience with me.
