Rumours of Angels and
The Gift

CD Review by Ross Flint

This is a double CD presentation, the second disk being a re-release.

Rumours of Angels is more for listening to than singing along with. Being a Kendrick fan from way-back, this is again to his usual high standard, with brilliant lyrics. The album is worthwhile purchasing just for one song - Thorns in the Straw:

And did she see there
In the straw by his head a thorn
And did she smell myrrh
In the air on that starry night
And did she hear angels sing
Not so far away
Till at last the sun rose blood-red
In the morning sky.

The Gift is a re-release of an album that contains some excellent songs for your congregation to sing at the Christmas season. It is an interesting album in that it has such a diverse assortment of musical styles, including the fact that it is produced in the form of a musical.

Great gift - for family, friends or just for yourself.
